In nearly three months, the next in the series, featuring women in interactive media, will be held at 1871 in Chicago on October 14th. This unique, quarterly gathering is a powerful gathering that addresses business and world issues in an intimate forum. The series features networking, a panel discussion, mentoring and a round table lunch designed to motivate, educate and spark change.

The Women’s Leadership Series was incredibly enriching. I love seeing that there are more and more women in the healthcare field, namely in leadership roles. Being a co-moderator gave me a great opportunity to lead the questions and give the audience a better perspective of who these women really are.

All the panelists were incredibly talented, smart, and amazing people. The young women at this event had the opportunity to learn so much from them, starting with who they were when they started and who they are now as accomplished individuals. I think it was a great opportunity for the high school students who were there because the event opened their minds to so many different career paths within one broad field. The panelists not only shared the wide variety of opportunities available, but they also spoke of their personal stories which demonstrated how motivation, hard work, and dedication always pay off in the end.

When I was in high school I did not have as many opportunities to meet professional women. I only wish I could have had these experiences. Seeing so many young high schoolers at this event was amazing. They are being exposed to people with many different backgrounds and stories, enabling them to broaden their network so early on.

As a woman, a woman with big dreams, it’s amazing for me to know there are other women who dreamed big and now are actually living their dream. It shows me, and plenty of other girls, what we can do and that we can achieve everything we strive for by working hard enough to get there. Events like these are incredibly powerful for the young women who attend as well as for the moderator and panelists. They truly show women are capable of doing so many incredible things. We women can change the world.
