Mercedes-Benz has officially brought back the Evolution Tour with a bang.
For the second installment of the multi-city music tour, the brand showcased the GLA and CLA, two compact luxury vehicles designed to appeal to the next generation of Mercedes-Benz customers. The beautiful vehicles took center stage, along with headlining act Bastille, at Chicago’s Aon Grand Ballroom at iconic Navy Pier.
Following a successful 2014 launch, this year’s tour continues to highlight the intrinsic bond between music and cars. The tour kicked off in New York City before heading to Chicago, offering a fun and stylish synthesis of entertainment, fashion and art.
The night was all about creating a truly experiential event, from food trucks at the entrance to selfie stations so everyone could capture their perfect party moments. Concert goers also made custom screen-printed tees and tote bags while they sipped on custom cocktails and snacks, courtesy of Heineken, Wodka, SkinnyPop and Kind Bars.
DJ Ruckus kicked off the music portion of the night, mixing beats that got the crowd moving with a combination of classic hits and new radio jams. Then Bastille took the stage, playing crowd favorites like their mega-hit Pompeii along with new tracks and their personal favorites from earlier EP albums.
The night also included a surprise fireworks show (every Wednesday and Saturday at Navy Pier) that brought the crowd into the warm summer night in Mercedes-Benz style.
